TOO DEEP † Latah Valley's Prayers Of The People"Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words. And God, who searches the heart, knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God."--Romans 8:26

Worship Service [People... Places... Circumstances]: The following prayers were offered during worship on May 4:
Hazel for cataract removal tomorrow,
Roger Garvin having chemo, Barbara to soften her heart toward her
family, Lisa & Ben who are trying to adopt a child, Jeff for a good
report from his doctor, all those dealing with the death of a Cheney
student, our troops in all parts of the world and for the family of a
Cheney native that lost his life on his third deployment to Iraq, our
government and the upheaval in the race for nominations and the nominees
for our next president, for the landlady whose husband died in the past
year and now her dog has died....she is lonely and in need of
friendship. Also, Katie Conway and healing with her migraines. In the name of the one, crucified and raised again, we pray the prayer he has taught us...
Adoration:
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ "We live in a time of no room, which is the time of the end. The time when everyone is obsessed with lack of time, lack of space, with saving time, conquering space, projecting into time and space the anguish produced within them by the technological furies of size, volume, quantity, speed, number, price, power and acceleration... Into this world... Christ has come uninvited." --Thomas Merton, Raids On The Unspeakable Confession: In these prayers, we stutter and stammer our own sense of brokenness... the condition of sin which we share with all humanity. In your mercy, O God, forgive what we have done and what we have left undone. We are sorry for habitual behavior and random acts which sever and scar our relationships with you, our neighbors and the world in which we live. Our speech and our silence is often full of malice, envy and spite. Now with contrite hearts, we are bold to ask for your saving grace...
In these prayers, we acknowledge the benefits and blessings which we have received and which continue to bombard us day and night. Father of Lights, every good and perfect gift comes from you. We are so grateful for the story of Christ Jesus, in which we discover ourselves. Thank you for giving us a sense of purpose in our connections with family and friends. The work you give us to do is good. Your provisions for our rest and rejuvenation restore order and rhythm to our unruly lives. Thank you for gathering us as a mother hen gathers her brood. And thank you for scattering and sending out as your wise and gentle servants. Supplication:
