THRESHOLD Groups:

"...When thresholds are crossed and paradoxes embraced,
new relationship is always the signature of authenticity.

All the ups and downs of our meandering story are validated
by a freedom for mutual belonging and mutual gift.
This is the test and fruit of any genuine growth.
This is the only credible happy ending."

(Michael Paul Gallagher, S.J., The Human Poetry of Faith, p. 108).

A key component of the LATAH VALLEY experience will be men, women, teenagers and children meeting one another in small groups of 10 to 20 known as THRESHOLD.

Current THRESHOLD Groups meet at the following times and places...

Mondays--6 to 7 p.m. at 202 Gregory Place, Cheney...  Hazel Newkirk, Leader

Tuesdays--7 to 8 p.m. at 6104 South Napa, Spokane...  Bill & Selina Slater, Co-Leaders

Wednesdays--7 to 8 p.m. at 2118 South D Street, Spokane... Dave & Kyla Fague, Co-Leaders

Thursdays (Bi-Weekly)--7 to 8:30 p.m. at 717 East 40th Avenue, Spokane... Carol & Rick Melin, Co-Leaders

THRESHOLD COVENENT

We agree to meet together on a regular and consistent basis for the following purposes of…

  • Biblical Formation as disciples of Jesus Christ
  • Accountability within the Abram’s covenant and to the apostolic witness
  • Authentic affirmation and genuine care for one another
  • The growth and nurture of Latah Valley, a newly forming community of faith
  • The humble and passionate expression of our mutual hope in God’s Reign

Given these overarching concerns, we promise to…

  • Participate by sharing and listening (not giving advice or fixing problems)
  • Respect what is shared as confidential
  • Forgive and pursue reconciliation with one another as the need arises
  • Learn to pray for ourselves, Latah Valley, the larger Church and God’s World
  • Seek integrity in our relationships at home, at work, at school and elsewhere

Our group will be open and welcoming to others, who may wish to join in our gatherings (but may decide to build trust and intimacy by choosing specific times and meetings when others would be welcomed warmly).

Our group will give birth to new groups in approximately nine months.  We promise to support the birth of those groups and those whom God will call to lead them.  Those who lead promise to receive instruction and training.
