Children:
By the end of the year, we plan on
hosting a dynamic Children’s Program (for ages 3—12), which is
facilitated by a team of committed, creative and compassionate adult
followers of Jesus. Sunday
morning’s ‘Gather Round
framework will just be one of the offerings.
Other possibilities include a
Vacation Bible School on
the property, a visit to a local soup kitchen and more.
Youth:
The teenagers of
Latah
Valley (ages 13—17) will
eventually gather on Thursday evenings for
“The Riparian Zone.”
Literally, riparian
refers to the sensitive slopes or wetlands, nearest to a river, a stream
or a creek.
Latah
Valley’s property has a pre-existing
building that straddles such an area, and we imagine it to be a great
meeting place for adolescents, adult leaders and the Holy Spirit.
"They are like trees planted by streams of water,
which yield their fruit in its season, and their leaves do no
wither..."
--Psalm 1:3
Music & the Arts:
At present, David and Kyla Fague help to provide leadership for our music on
Sunday mornings.
In the future, however, we imagine a cadre of
other gifted vocalists, guitarists, drummers and more.
Moreover, when it comes to artistic expression of any shape or size, Latah Valley
dreams of providing a haven for those who write poetry, paint landscapes, sketch
portraits and sculpt inspirational objects.

Spiritual Formation
for Adults:
Latah
Valley is a threshold, and
to that end we will host an ever-increasing amount of
Threshold Groups, which meet during the week.
In addition to these small gatherings in the neighborhoods, we intend to
offer a seven week new members class, called
the Seven
L’s [See Mission Statement].
Elective courses will include
Spiritual Story-Telling (on
Jesus’ parables and our poetry),
Spiritual Disciplines (on prayer,
hospitality, stewardship and testimony) and
Spiritual Gifts (on the special abilities or talents that God has given
peculiarly to you).
Outreach:
As the community of Latah Valley
deepens, we’ll put our heads together and plan on various demonstrations of the
love that God has shown us in Christ.
That means
we’ll be
going out—outside of our comfort zone and perhaps to people we wouldn’t
otherwise meet. If you’re
interested, read up on Matthew 25:34—36 and think in terms of food & drink,
hospitals & prisons—not to mention trips to India, Guatemala and Eastern Europe.
